Introducing Andrea Wilmot, the newest member of our team!

The Canadian SADS Foundation is pleased to announce that Andrea Wilmot has joined our team as Associate Director. Andrea brings a background in fundraising to the role as well as a passion for patient advocacy and a personal drive to raise awareness of SADS conditions.

Andrea’s commitment to the Foundation’s mission comes from her personal experience with ARVC. In 2002 Andrea’s older brother, Stephen Csatari, an upper year university student, collapsed and died while out running. An autopsy confirmed Stephen had ARVC and her family reached out to The Canadian SADS Foundation and Pam Husband for support and information after receiving the diagnosis.

"After receiving that phone call – the one everyone dreads and never expects – and witnessing my parents try and cope with the loss of a child, something so unimaginably devastating, and trying to carry on with my own life after the tragic loss of my brother and friend, my hope is to spread awareness of these diseases to save lives so no more families have to go through what ours did.  The Canadian SADS Foundation played such an integral role in our family’s life after my brother’s death that I am honoured to be a part of this wonderful organization.”

Our upcoming newsletter will feature Andrea’s full story as well as some exciting initiatives and updates on the work the Foundation has been doing. To subscribe to the newsletter please click here.

We are excited to have Andrea on our team and look forward to the contributions she will make to the Foundation.
